About the Artist

Painting, for me, begins with attention.

I am drawn to the quiet presence of my subjects — the way light rests along a line of muscle, the calm strength in a lowered head, the subtle expression that reveals character. My work centers on observing these details with patience, allowing them to unfold naturally on canvas.

Working primarily in oil, I approach each portrait slowly and deliberately. Layers are built over time, guided by classical principles of light, structure, and balance. The intention is not photographic replication, but a thoughtful interpretation — one that reflects both the subject’s form and its spirit.

Equine portraiture remains the heart of my commissioned work. I am continually inspired by the dignity, power, and sensitivity found in horses. A limited number of companion animal portraits are also accepted each season, each approached with the same care and attention.

Every painting is developed entirely by hand in oil on canvas. There are no reproductions, no digital enhancement, and no outsourcing. The process is intimate and focused, shaped by conversation with the client and a careful study of reference images.

I work from a private studio in Mansfield, Texas, and accept only a small number of commissions each month to ensure each portrait receives the time it deserves.
